Serguei Leonardo Afonin

Serguei Afonin was born in Penza (Russia) and grew up in Switzerland.
He successfully completed his bachelor studies in Ukraine in Odessa and then his master studies at the Swiss Opera Studio, Hochschule der Künste in Biel. He possesses a velvety but powerful voice and knows how to inspire with his cavalier tenor. His most recent roles include: Dottore in "La Traviata" (Verdi) and Bertrand in "Iolanta" (Tchaikovsky). In September 2018, he appeared at the Munot Opera Festival (Schaffhausen) as Marcello in Puccini's "La Bohème". At the Isny Opera Festival (Germany), he sang Marcel in "The Huguenots" and the leading roles in the operas "Tsar Saltan" (Rimsky-Korsakov) and in "Kuhhandel" (Kurt Weill).
